Content hub2020 health plan rate adjustment recovery
In August 2020, the ANS (Brazil's National Supplementary Health Agency) decided to suspend the application of health plan rate adjustments from September to December 2020.
What was decided
The decision was made after the ANS Collegiate Board's 16th Extraordinary Meeting, as a result of the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The suspension covered both cost-variation (annual) adjustments and age-bracket change adjustments.
Where the guidance was published
The guidance for health plan operators to comply with the decision was published in the Official Gazette (Diário Oficial da União) on September 2, 2020, through ANS Notice No. 85.
